I just watched 30 Rock and now I’m having trouble telling the difference between Kenneth the Page and Bobby Jindal. It’s all so confusing.

[L]eaving aside the chutzpah of casting the failure of his own party’s governance as proof that government can’t work, does he really think that the response to natural disasters like Katrina is best undertaken by uncoordinated private action? Hey, why bother having an army? Let’s just rely on self-defense by armed citizens.
The intellectual incoherence is stunning. Basically, the political philosophy of the GOP right now seems to consist of snickering at stuff that they think sounds funny. The party of ideas has become the party of Beavis and Butthead.

I’m sitting here watching the GOP response of Obama’s Joint Session of Congress (or NSOTU as it’s been hashtaged on Twitter) and I’m just floored. That is one of the worst speeches I’ve ever heard from a national figure. Hell, it was barely a speech; more like a barely coherent rant. What the hell were Jindal’s people thinking, let along the GOP?
This guy is going to go from being the GOP’s golden child to being the laughing stock of the nation, all in the span of 12 short minutes.
